Transitarte 2025: Art, music and culture in the heart of the city

After a long wait, the Transitarte Festival returns to the Costa Rican capital with an edition that will take place from March 28 to 30, 2025. For three days, San José will be transformed into a large open-air stage, offering a varied program of cultural, artistic and gastronomic activities for all ages.
A festival with history and diversity
Now in its 18th year, Transitarte has established itself as one of the most important cultural events in Costa Rica. Organized by the Municipality of San José, the festival seeks to democratize access to art, filling parks, squares and boulevards with expressions of national and international talent.
This year, Transitarte will have six stages distributed throughout different parts of the city, offering a diverse musical program that will include rock, reggae, hip-hop, electronic and jazz. National and international artists will perform in iconic spaces such as Morazán Park, the National Park and España Park.
The grand finale of the festival will be on Sunday March 30th in the Parque Metropolitano La Sabana with a free concert that will bring together renowned bands such as Marfil, Sonámbulo, Mentados, In Betwin and Los Auténticos Decadentes from Argentina, who promise an unforgettable show.

Art and culture in every corner
The streets of José will be filled with exhibitions, workshops and theatrical performances. In addition, there will be spaces dedicated to literature with poetry recitals and book fairs, as well as contemporary art exhibitions and live mural painting. One of the new features this year is the special stage dedicated to creole swing (swing criollo) and bolero, where there will be workshops, exhibitions and a dance competition.

As part of the experience, Transitarte 2025 will have a varied gastronomic offer in open-air markets. From typical Costa Rican food to vegan options and international fusions, attendees will be able to enjoy unique flavors as they tour the different areas of the event. There will also be entrepreneurial fairs with local products ranging from clothing and accessories to art and independent design.
Spaces for the whole family
