Discover Cámara De Gessel: An Intimate Poetry Book With Carolina Quintero Valverde
Next July 19, 2024, at 7 pm, the Centro Cultural de España will be the stage for the presentation of the poetry book “Cámara de Gessel” by the talented Costa Rican poet Carolina Quintero Valverde. This event promises to be an evening full of poetry and reflection, where attendees will be able to immerse themselves in the intimate and familiar universe that Quintero explores in her most recent work.
The Work And Its Content
Cámara De Gessel is a poetry book that revolves around a family photo, which is observed and interpreted by the poet as an object of study and an intimate spectacle. Through her verses, Carolina Quintero explores the behavior of her clan, describing their faces, gestures, stories, fortunes and emptiness.
The author evokes these elements with surgical precision, without trying to displace them, but rather coexisting with their intention and origin. This exercise of memory and devotion seeks to help the poet understand their origin and establish a genealogy of the words and postures that arise when nostalgia and uncertainty are isolated in a controlled space.
