Amón Cultural 2025: An encounter with the art and history of San José

Amón Cultural returns on March 22 with its traditional urban festival, filling the historic neighborhoods of Amón and Otoya with art and color. With more than 80 activities, mostly free and aimed, this edition pays tribute to Liliana Tagini and Yara Mourelo, owners of the renowned Tienda eÑe.
The Amón Cultural Festival is an annual celebration that highlights the artistic, historical, architectural and heritage diversity of this unique area of the capital. The festival explores the convergence between city and nature as its central theme. Throughout the year, this initiative promotes activities focused on the enhancement, development and conservation of the area.
More than a festival: News and initiatives
The 2025 edition presents innovations such as the first photography competition, in which both professionals and amateurs can capture the essence of the festival. Organized by the Technological Institute of Costa Rica (TEC), the LCI Veritas School of Photography and the Cultural Center of Spain in Costa Rica.
Besides this, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of cleaning up urban rivers, the Mud Spheres Festival will be held on the Torres River. This event will bring together citizens in Naturbanas Routes from 9:00 a.m. onwards.
